About Our College

JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Nanjangud, affiliated to the University of Mysore was established in the year 1968 with the Divine Blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the great visionary and the 23rd Pontiff of Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamstana Muth, Suttur.

Since the inception and under the aegis of JSS Mahavidyapeetha; The College has obtained 2(F) and 12(B) status as per the UGC norms and accredited by NAAC with B++ Grade with 2.77 CGPA during the III cycle of Assessment in 2021. The College has been rendering selfless service through providing quality and value-based education to the students of all sections in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Business Management, Science, and Computer Application. The College caters to the need of students not only in proliferation of our ancient sacred scriptures, but also in enhancement of modern technology. Notably, the College is built in a sprawling 13.17 acres of land at the outskirts of Nanjangud town – Deveerammanahalli with adequate infrastructure, well facilitated Indoor- Outdoor sports stadiums, Yoga-Centre, Multi-Gym, well equipped Laboratories, Library and Information Centre with various reference books, INFLIBNET, Internet and Wi-Fi facilities. Some outstanding Yoga exponents have been Yoga-Instructors/Gurus at National and International level.

Principal’s Message

It is my privilege to admit the progressive achievements of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, the Socio-cultural Institution founded by His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the great visionary and the 23rd Pontiff of Sri Kshethra Suttur Math, which has pioneered the concept of Education as a tool for Social change. When there were no educational institutions to meet the ends of the students of all sections of Nanjangud region, JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science was established in the year 1968 in Nanjangud town, the aim of the institution was to impart the need based and quality education to the students of all sections of the region, especially, the students who come from the rural background and poor families. 

Objectives

  • To plan and continuously provide necessary infrastructural and learning resources for Quality Education.
  • To help students in achieving Academic Excellence.
  • To uphold the glorious tradition of our National Heritage in global scenario.
  • To stimulate activities in strengthening professional competency of Teaching and Non-teaching staff.
  • To involve employers, employees, students, alumni, NGO and the general public in the activities of the institution.
  • To establish a system for communication amongst students, alumni, management, employees and the society at large to create a healthy atmosphere for vision oriented growth.
  • To update the knowledge of students through quality education and make them responsible citizens.
  • To introduce need based courses under self-financing scheme relevant to the demand of the time and market requirement.
