ABOUT JSS MAHAVIDYAPEETHA
JSS Mahavidyapeetha is a philanthropic gift to the society by a lineage of Pontiffs who believed in uplifting the society by eradicating poverty through providing education to all. The prestigious educational institution was established in the year 1954 by the 23rd Pontiff of Sri Kshethra Suttur Math His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji. “Work is Worship” is the motto of JSS Mahavidyapeetha. It was the dream of His Holiness to develop and build sympathy, empathy and respect for fellow humans that dream has come true in the global scenario.
Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Mahavidyapeetha has been described by many eminent scholars, educationists and philosophers as an institution not less than a University. Indeed, it has become true and the institution itself has proved it’s achievement through emerging itself as the Deemed to be University, because under its aegis a child can begin its education in the Kindergarten and proceed to earn a Degree as well as Doctorate in several branches of learning. Simultaneously, the Mahavidyapeetha has not neglected to strengthen the roots our ancient knowledge, wisdom and culture and their application in the day to day life.
Sanskrit Pathashalas, Yoge Kendras, Spiritual Retreats, Gurukulas, Arts and Cultural Forums are doing this work. Today the Mahavidyapeetha has grown into a center of learning that has been guiding and managing more than 360 various institutions under the Divine Blessings of the present Pontiff of Sri Math His Holiness Jagadguru Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Under the guidance of His Holiness, JSS Mahavidyapeetha has taken a lead in spreading literacy and learning, providing healthcare and nurturing rural development for the upliftment of the society as well.
