About the Department
  • The Computer Science Department was started in the year 2008.
  • The Department has a well-equipped ICT enabled laboratory with 32 computer systems with 10 Mbps broadband internet facility. The lab has complete LAN connectivity.
  • The faculty and students are encouraged and allowed to use Internet facilities in the department.
  • The department has implemented CBCS scheme as per Mysore University regulations.
  • In order to promote and to encourage the students to excel in their studies, various cash prizes have been instituted. Cash prizes will be given to the students who excel in their examinations every year on the occasion of the Founders’- Day.

Computer Science is offered as one of the optional subjects for BSc students with following combinations:
  • Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science (PMCs)
  • Computer Application is offered as one of the skill-oriented paper for BA students.
Objectives of the BSc programme
  • To develop problem solving techniques in students..
  • Perform experiments and interpret the results of observation, including making an assessment of experimental uncertainties.
  • Use Information Communication Technology (ICT enabled) to gather knowledge at will.
