ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of English was established in the year 1968. Since then, it has been catering to teaching English Language and Literature and promoting interest and creativity in the English language. The vision of the Department is to enhance communicative skills of the students for global competency and strengthen their aesthetic sense through language and literature. The Department is run by vibrant teachers helping the students to express effectively in English and make them realize that the lessons in the texts are also lessons in life to excel in any field they choose. The Department is proud to have achieved in infusing the urge of learning English. The adequate learning resources in the Departmental Library and the Language Laboratory strengthen teaching and learning and expand the horizon of knowledge.

Sense of Genre: Students will develop an appreciation of how the formal elements of language and genre shape meaning. They will recognize how writers can transgress or subvert generic expectations, as well as fulfill them. And they will develop a facility at writing in appropriate genres for a variety of purposes and audiences.

The Department of English has been offering the need based and quality education to the students of the College as per the Examination norms prescribed by the University of Mysore.
