About the Department
  • The Computer Science Department was started in the year 2008.
  • The Department has a well-equipped ICT enabled laboratory with 32 computer systems with 10 Mbps broadband internet facility. The lab has complete LAN connectivity.
  • The faculty and students are encouraged and allowed to use Internet facilities in the department.
  • The department has implemented CBCS scheme as per Mysore University regulations.
  • In order to promote and to encourage the students to excel in their studies, various cash prizes have been instituted. Cash prizes will be given to the students who excel in their examinations every year on the occasion of the Founders’- Day.

About the Department:

The department of commerce started in the year 1970 w ith very few  students, grow itself to become the biggest department of the college with 368 students in the academic year 2019 -2020. It was headed by prominent academicians visionaries, academic experts, department for several years imparting quality education to the students. Many students of our department have become professionals, academicians, bureaucrats, managers and experts assumed significant positions in several government departments, organisations and enterprises.

The department is instrumental in introducing  BBA programme  in 2008. As the college is affiliated to the University of Mysore curriculum of the programme is designed by BOS in Commerce and BOS in Administartion.

The Department has adequate well qualified, competent faculty who are dedicated to the academic and overall development of the student community. The Department strives to take the students beyond academics and offers innumerable exposures and opportunities to facilitate them to grow in self- confidence and self- esteem, so that they will be able to face all challenges of life successfully. Further the department organize industrial visits, study tours, workshops to  provide  practical knowledge to  students. In  addition to this, seminars and conferences are also conducted on current issues related to commerce and management to enrich and to  upgrade  the  knowledge  of students and academicians. The department is practicing innovative teaching methods to enable the students to understand curriculum and  develop skills in order to fit themselves for real life situations.

Bridge Course: Bridge Course is conducted in first year to bridge the gap between the commerce and non-commerce students.

Department Library: Department library is established where faculty and all the students of department can take the books for reference.

Experimental Learning: Industrial Visit and field visit are organised with an aim to go beyond academics, provide students a practical perspective on the world of work and an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices.

Paper Presentation by Students: Writing, presenting papers, researching at State/ National/ International Seminars/ Conferences provides students with invaluable experience in expressing ideas and an opportunity to exercise and improve both written and verbal communication skill.

B.Com Program Objectives:

The Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) equips graduates with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to understand and participate in the modern business world. The course also prepares students for subsequent graduate studies and allows them to achieve the highest level of success in their professional careers.

To cater to the manpower needs of companies in Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, Financial analysis and Management.

The Course allows students to meet accreditation requirements specified by accounting and actuarial professional bodies. Graduate options upon completion of the degree include proceeding directly to employment or further professional or research related graduate studies.

To prepare students to take up higher education to become business scientists, researchers, consultants and teachers with core competencies.

Graduates of this degree will be productive workplace communicators.

BBA Programme Objectives:
